50 word stories

1. Kyle lies there on his bed gritting his teeth. It is the second time this month. Once again, he does not want to wake up. “Keep lying there, it’s the easier way out you know”, a voice spoke to him. Determined to turn over a new leaf, Kyle stands up.

2. Mr. and Mrs. Lee walk down the sidewalk, both crossing their arms. “So, decided yet?” Mrs. Lee asks. Mr. Lee snorts and quickens his pace. “I thought I told you to decide? Everyday also I decide, can’t you help?” Mr. Lee’s alarm beeps, marking the end of the lunch break.

3. “Hey, how about we combine this two”, Daniel suggests, attempting to intervene. Kyle nods his head reluctantly and passes the paper to Angie. “No! This idea here just won’t work, cannot combine!” Angie rebutted while pointing to the paper. Kyle shoved the paper back to Daniel and stared at him.

4. “What you doing?”, Aunt Gu asked. It is the fifth time this hour Kyle is being asked this question by her. Kyle removes his hands from his ears and slammed them on the table. “Could you stop it! I’m trying to write five stories here”. Giggling, Aunt Gu walks away.

5. Sitting at the corner of the classroom, Kyle trembles as he sees Big Tom approaching him. He had promised Big Tom a loan of five hundred bucks. He was practically forced into making that promise. Kyle has had enough. He takes out his knife and mumbles, “it’s not my fault”.

  1. I like the last 2 stories. Good job with trying to keep the stories within the 50word limit.

Try to ensure that you don’t slip into Singlish when writing as in the 2nd story.
